Have you heard about the Carolina Cash 5 Bonus Bucks drawings? Tracy Coleman got the word from his brother about the chance to win cash prizes and decided to try his luck in the first drawing. On Nov. 15, the day after the first drawing was held, Coleman went to the lottery’s website – and found out his entry number was a winner.
“I couldn’t believe it,” Coleman said, who is pictured here with this blog. “I checked again and again to make sure. I was very excited.”
“It couldn’t have come at a better time,” added Coleman, who is a native of Durham and works as a computer technician. Coleman said his winnings would be used to buy Christmas presents and pay bills. He also planned to save to take his daughter on vacation. Coleman received his winning Bonus Bucks entry with a Cash 5 ticket purchase he made at the Cruizer’s located at 100 Latta Rd. in Durham.
A total of five cash prizes are awarded in each Bonus Bucks drawing, including a top prize of $50,000. The $50,000-winning entry in the first drawing has yet to claim the prize. That player’s good luck started at the Kangaroo Express located at 116 Piney Green Rd. in Jacksonville. Whoever has the winning entry with the number #100217876 has 180 days from the date of the drawing to collect the prize.
All three $1,000 winners have come to one of the lottery’s claim centers to collect. They are:
- Kerry Gomez of Stem, who received her winning entry at the Rose Mart located at 703 Lewis St. in Oxford.
- Charles Houston of Waxhaw, who received his winning entry at the Market Express located at 13801 Providence Rd. in Weddington.
- Nakeshia Jackson of Fayetteville, who received her winning entry at the Short Stop located at 3563 Gillespie St. in Fayetteville.
The next Bonus Bucks drawing will be held on Jan. 16, 2013. For a chance to win in that drawing, make sure to get one or more entry slips between now and the entry deadline of Jan. 9. It’s easy to enter, check out more info in our previous blog about Bonus Bucks.
Congratulations to the winners, and best of luck to everyone!
